Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Gets First Reviews

The plot addition to the fourth Diablo so far scores a solid 90 points out of 100.
Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Gets First Reviews

Shortly before the release of the long-awaited Diablo 4 expansion Vessel of Hatred, the first reviews from gaming journalists have appeared. One of the first sites to publish their impressions was the PC Gamer portal, which rated the DLC at 90 points out of 100. Reviewers noted many aspects, from the spectacle to the unique mechanics of the new character class.

One of the key points that immediately catches the eye of reviewers is the significant change in the tone and atmosphere of the world. If the original Diablo 4 always stood out for its gloom and severity, then the world of Vessel of Hatred surprises with its friendlier and brighter mood, despite the continuing tension and danger. PC Gamer emphasizes that this feeling is especially noticeable in the dialogues with new companions, who give the gameplay more humanity and warmth.

However, as noted in the review, one should not think that the DLC has lost the gloom that is typical for the Diablo series. Despite the lighter tones in communication with partners, players will have to face a creepy jungle full of dangers. These dense and mysterious forests will become the central arena of new events, where any step can turn into a deadly threat.

One of the most significant innovations of Vessel of Hatred is the addition of a mercenary system, which was not previously available in Diablo 4. Now players will have the opportunity to assemble their own squad of companions, each of whom has not only a unique set of abilities, but also an individual character. At the start of the add-on, four mercenary fighters will be available: Rahir, Varyana, Aldkin and Subo. Each of these characters not only performs the function of support in battle, but also actively interacts with the main character through dialogues and story events.

PC Gamer notes that communication with mercenaries is not limited to exchanging phrases about current tasks. Conversations with them are often filled with humor and warmth, which brings fresh and unexpected emotions to the gloomy atmosphere of the game. Players will be able to become truly attached to their companions, as they are not only combat allies, but also full-fledged individuals with unique stories.

One of the most anticipated elements of the expansion was a new character class called the "Spirit Heir". This class stands out for its flexibility in combat and the use of unique mechanics - spirit energy. Each spirit summoned by the "Spirit Heir" performs its function, reminiscent of the elemental abilities of a mage. However, the combat style of this class is based on the art of close combat and the use of martial arts, which makes it dynamic and spectacular.

According to PC Gamer journalists, the "Spirit Heir" immediately attracts attention with its power and the ability to fight at different distances, forcing enemies to literally fly in different directions. This makes the gameplay for the new class especially exciting, giving players wide scope for tactical decisions and experiments with spirit combinations.

PC Gamer's review concluded that Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred deserves its 90 out of 100 points, stating that this expansion takes the game to a new level, making it one of the best action RPGs of the last ten years. Journalists noted that the combination of new mechanics, a more living world, and fascinating characters makes Vessel of Hatred a must-have for all fans of the series.

The official release of Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred will take place on October 8, 2024 at 02:00 Moscow time. For those who want to prepare in advance, pre-loading will be available on Battle.net on October 1, and for PlayStation and Xbox users - from October 5. Players on Steam will be able to download the update directly on the day of release.

Thus, Vessel of Hatred promises to bring a lot of new content to the game, from a fresh class of characters to interesting mercenaries and a deep story. Players can only wait for the official release to dive into this updated world of Diablo 4 for themselves.
