An unusual decision was made by Sony to cover the shortage of the current generation PlayStation 5 consoles. Instead of increasing the number of platforms released, the developers decided to continue the production cycle of the previous generation PlayStation 4 platforms.
This is reported by Bloomberg. According to the resource, Sony intends to release at least a million more PS4 consoles, adding that games optimized for this console will also continue to be released throughout 2022 (they were originally planned to stop releasing at the end of 2021).
Thus, one should not expect that this year the problem of the shortage of PlayStation 5 platforms in Russian stores will be resolved.
