The Russian authorities offered several foreign brands to produce laptops on domestic processors

Lenovo, Acer and HP companies at the end of 2021 received an offer from the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation. Representatives of the public service offered brands to start production of new laptops based on domestic processors of the Baikal type.

According to Kommersant, production will start in 2023. Thus, foreign digital products will be fully compatible with domestic electronics. So far, it is planned to create a batch of 50,000 laptops per year, but if the devices are in demand, the number of models is guaranteed to increase.

It is noteworthy that representatives of manufacturing brands have not yet commented on the statement of the Ministry of Digital Development.
