According to authoritative insider Tom Henderson, Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is planned as an independent sequel for PS5, Xbox Series X and PC, which will be released sometime in 2023.
Information about the Warzone sequel appeared immediately after the Bloomberg report, which we wrote about earlier: despite the fact that Microsoft bought Activision Blizzard, at least 3 Call of Duty games will be released on PlayStation consoles. After the publication of this report, well-known insider Tom Henderson entered the game, who spoke about the three games in question. Among them are Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 with a release window in 2022, an untitled title from Treyarch for release next year, and Warzone 2, which is also due in 2023.
Bloomberg has reported that Activision will publish the next 3 Call of Duty titles on PlayStation.

Modern Warfare 2 this year, Treyarch's title in 2023, and "Warzone 2" in 2023.
In a follow-up tweet, Hendesrno clarified some key points that the CoD fan community must have thought about. From the looks of it, the Warzone sequel will have nothing to do with the original battle royale. Instead, it will launch on PC and current generation consoles.
Warzone 2 is literally... Warzone 2. Current gen and PC only. No integrations with the previous game, no old weapons, etc. A completely new game for the best hardware.
Activision is in no hurry to share official data, so all information should be taken (albeit with a small) degree of skepticism. But if, suddenly, it turns out to be true, Warzone 2 may be the last Call of Duty to be available on the PlayStation. And even if the sequel to Warzone does indeed make it to PS, it remains unclear how long and how well it will be supported after its initial release on PlayStation 5.
