Looks like we're in for another multiverse madness
New 'Doctor Strange 2' synopsis hints at 'alternate realities' and 'mysterious enemy'

A new official synopsis has been released for Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness (Doctor Strange 2) , which teases misadventures in the multiverse and some kind of global evil.

The official description reads:

Marvel Studios' Doctor Strange: Into the Multiverse of Madness opens up the Multiverse and expands its boundaries like never before. Embark on a journey through the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies old and new, traverses mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new foe.

The lead role in the sequel to the original film in 2016 again went to Benedict Cumberbatch. We last saw him in Spider-Man: No Way Home, where he unintentionally unleashed chaos on the multiverse in an attempt to help Peter Parker.

He will be accompanied by the character Wanda Maximoff, aka the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Oslen), Archmage Wong (Benedict Wong), Baron Mordo (Chivetal Ejiofor), Christine Palmer (Rachel McAdams) and America Chavez (Sochil Gomez).

There were changes in the director's chair: Sam Raimi took the place of Scott Derrickson, and Michael Waldron, screenwriter of Loki, helped write the script. By the way, the re-shoots of the picture were recently completed, which were inspired by the incredible reaction of the fans to "No way home" and "Loki".

If we talk about who will be the main villain in Doctor Strange 2, then you can look for clues in the first trailer of the film. There we are shown another, evil version of the Doctor. Could this be the same enemy we saw in the Disney+ animated series What If...?

Doctor Strange: Into the Multiverse of Madness is set to hit theaters on May 6th.
