Early copies of Dying Light 2 have already appeared in retail, and Techland decided to appeal to fans, asking them to postpone the launch of the game until its official release on Friday, February 4th.
In a Twitter post, Techland wrote:
Dear survivors! We see that some of you already have retail copies of Dying Light 2 even before its official release... We understand your desire to explore the city as soon as possible, and very happy about it!
Despite all the positive of this message, the developer continued by asking the owners of early copies to wait for the official release of Dying Light 2 this Friday, February 4th:
By then, you'll have access to all the improvements and fixes we've implemented over the past weeks and will be rolling out with the Day 1 Patch. This is the way to get the best Dying Light 2 experience.
That being said, we kindly ask you to wait until Feb 4th as by that time you'll also get access to all improvements and fixes we've implemented within last weeks and will introduce with the day 1 patch. That's the way to experience Dying Light 2 the way it's meant to be played.

It is not known if fans will be able to restrain themselves from launching the game, the development of which has been postponed several times, accompanied by numerous layoffs of high-ranking employees. Whether the full game will live up to everything we've been through, we'll find out very soon, on February 4th, when it arrives on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
