AMD had a record year, but the company still lags behind Intel

AMD in 2021 earned $16.4 billion from the sale of its products, which was a record for the brand. Compared to the previous reporting period, revenue increased by 68%, but such indicators are still not satisfactory for management.

Most of all, the manufacturer's profit was expectedly brought by sales of processors and video cards, on which AMD earned 9.3 billion in 2021. The rest is distributed between the production and sale of chips for consoles and other embedded systems.

The main reason is that AMD is still behind its closest competitor, Intel, which made over $79 billion during the year. The brand's net profit amounted to almost 20 billion, which is an absolute record for the organization itself and for the industry as a whole.
