Meanwhile, all of Hollywood is fighting for the rights to adapt the game.
Popular co-op It Takes Two sold over 5 million copies

Co-op platformer It Takes Two received the highest ratings from critics and users. The game, released in March last year, managed to win several significant awards, and continues to be popular among gamers. Developer Hazelight Studios recently announced that they have sold over 5 million copies of the game on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

If you didn't know about It Takes Two, then the game follows the adventures of Cody and May, a married couple on the verge of divorce, who are forced to work together after being turned into dolls. From a gameplay standpoint, it's a surprisingly ingenious split-screen platformer, and how well you work together plays a key role in your playthrough.

We were last told about sales of It Takes Two in October 2021, during which time the studio managed to sell another 2 million copies. The developers say that they are "completely overwhelmed by the banal thought of how many players enjoy their title."

Variety reported earlier this week that the game is at the center of a "multilateral auction" with many Hollywood studios battling to secure the rights to a movie adaptation.
