Resident Evil 4's director appears to be backing Capcom's potential remake, especially if the company improves on the story he wrote for the original fourth installment.
Shinji Mikami is a former head of the Resident Evil franchise who currently leads the studio Tango Gameworks, developing Ghostwire: Tokyo and in charge of The Evil Within series. In an interview with VG247, the well-known developer shared his thoughts on making a potential Resident Evil 4 remake .
Since the interview was about Ghostwire: Tokyo, Mikami was meant to be talking about it, so his comments regarding the Resident Evil 4 remake were kept as brief as possible:
Fans most likely want to see it [a remake] and that's a good thing. It would be great if Capcom improved the story.
As Mikami admitted, he had only three weeks to write the script for the original game.
Although Capcom hasn't officially announced work on a Resident Evil 4 remake, rumors about the project have been circulating for a long time. It was even reported last year that the title was delayed due to the team's creative reset.
An incredible success for the studio's debut project.
In short, the company is aware of the problem and is solving it.
It will be an animated prequel series.
