Atsushi Inaba, head of the PlatinumGames studio, plans to revive Scalebound. He spoke about this in an interview with the Japanese division of IGN, adding that the company plans to seek help from Microsoft.
Initially, it was Microsoft who asked the developers to make a game, but then the company's bosses did not like the concept for some reason. Thus, in order for Scalebound to come out, the team will have to completely rework it in order to please the partners and get the go-ahead for publishing the title.
Initially, it was assumed that in Scalebound the hero would travel the world in the company of a dragon. The game was supposed to reveal all the possibilities of the new, at that time, Xbox One and Xbox One X consoles.
The success of the title is quite expected.
