Walkthrough Beyond a Steel Sky

Beyond a Steel Sky is the sequel to the classic point & click adventure game Beneath a Steel Sky by Revolution Software. How to get to Union City

Walk to the left of the truck and talk to the kid standing next to the rusty carousel. Use the pry bar from inventory on the carousel chain, and then push the carousel. Cross over to the other side of the bridge. You can use the remote on the left to re-open the bridge and go back. Talk to the cargo bot carrying the crates. How to get to Graham's apartment

Rescue Raquel

The girl you met in the lobby is in the building. She is afraid to go down. Talk to her, the minister and the robot artist from the past. Cover all dialogue branches. Use the hacking device on the robot cleaning the lobby and make it go outside the building. Open a smallbox on the right side of the apartment complex and take out your scanner as soon as the water dispenser appears. Set replenishment to 0% by replacing the flow assembly with sprinklers.

Once you've done that, talk to Raquel. Exhaust all dialogue options. This time, recommend jumping on a robot that will help you down. She will eventually do it. Be sure to talk to her and the rest of the heroes on the ground. As soon as everything is over, the monopod will work, and you can go to the square.

You can explore the area, but if you want to advance the story, head to the New History Museum. Once inside, talk to the girl to learn about the old historical part of the museum. Make a deal with the girl. She will let you into the wing of the old story, and you will make her father go. Head to Asio City. Wait for the CRY-R robot to be near the exhibition layout, and then use the hacking device to swap the Enticingly and Calmly nodes.

Once done, place the Enticingly knot on Joey's synthetic hand in the center of the room. Now you need to repeat the process, but this time moving the Aggressively node from B0G-BR5H, which cleans the bathroom, through the CRY-R robot, into Joey's hand. It will be easier to do this if you first move the nodeto the children's exhibition. The synthetic hand will slap the father, and you can get an item from the girl that will allow you to go to the old story room.

Old history room

Once inside this room, look around. You can swap the nodes of the Joey Speaks robot with the N0IT-AL robot, and then activate the first one to communicate with Joey himself. You will be able to increase the range of the hacking device, but the N0IT-AL robot should approach you. When you do this, talk to the guard at the entrance. Select all dialogue branches. Then examine the refrigerator nearby. The robot will come here, and the guard will be distracted. When this happens, break open the refrigerator with a crowbar.

This will create enough chaos for everyone to leave the exhibition. Now you can follow Joey's advice. Break the glass holding his chip and steal the item. Use the pry bar to open the panel on the table with the holographic card. Move Joey's board and vacuum robot to the end of the room. For Joey's interface, use the holographic desk panel. Now the robot will help you find Lit.

Leave the museum

We're almost there. Download the operating manual of the Barrel Robot on the computer in the storage, and then change the node with the F4RT robot, chasing?? rat. Joey has an interface to the barrel robot port and will need more information. Swap the node with the Barrel Robot manual from F4RT with the holographic table. Have Joey check it out. Return to Graham's apartment and the Aspiration Platform

Head back to the apartment via the monopod and you'll run into that pesky poet Reginald. Back at the apartment, enter Graham's room and put on his cleaning uniform. Return to the square right now. Head to Security just in front of the monopod station and talk to Greta, the AI. Select Orana as the welfare officer you want to talk to, then use the monopod to head towards the aspiration platform.

Cancellation of travel on the Aspiration platform

Once on the Aspiration Platform, you encountered an interested droid. He needs your help. First, enter the control room on the right and use the control box near the door to turn off the sprinklers around the large tree. Then lure the Gang Gang bird into thepart days. You can now go back up the stairs and follow the path to the next building. Head right to find a furnace and use the glass bottle using the faucet at the bottom of the stairs and return to Lit.

In Search of the Real Lit

Talk to Lit about your U-chip and you'll discover that he's not Lit, he's a psycho killer. Use an empty glass bottle ?on the table to free yourself. Grab the unicorn from Jimmy's desk and the lumberjack on the floor, then head back to the path the droid was guarding.

This time, stick to the left side, but don't go up the stairs. Use your crowbar on the rusty box to open and turn off the switch.

Go to the gas control valve and turn it to break it. Climb up the stairs and use the cleaver on the cable to post the sign. Go back to the gas valve and use the plastic unicorn on the broken light.

Go back to the switch and turn it on for an explosion. Now return to the room with the stove where you found the moonshine. The furnace will turn off and you can climb the stairs at the back where you will find the real Lit and a small child.

Minos hack

We finally found the real Lith - chat with him to keep moving forward. Freeber's Shrieberman port allows him to enter LINCspace and hack MINOS with a digital avatar. Sit in Lit's chair and enter the digital world and you'll have to solve some very simple puzzles before you delete Lit and Graham's data from MINOS to make them free people.

Enter the floating icons here to teleport?Pedal - Enter the first one and then collect the two items on the pedals. Use the repair tool on the broken stairs in the last room and go up.

Enter the floating icon on the left, use the repair tape on the new room, and then collect the item and return. Use the blind tool on the giant eye in the last room. Back in the main room, use the fire extinguisher to open the last path and access the MINOS. You can use the converter in this room with the kernel log selected and then use the Navigator to complete the path.

Solving the data puzzle with Elliot, Graham and Greta

Graham's messages

With MINOS out of the way, we can finally peek into Graham Grundy's messages, so let's head back to his apartment - you can throw Bilby's toy into the oven before you leave, on Lit's orders. Enter Graham's bedroom and access the MINOS terminal to view his messages. Browse through Graham's messages, read whatever you want and find the post with the attachment. We now have a new message and a new goal to make it to the Gala at midnight

You can talk to Songbird and Chipworth to ask about the Gala Aspiration, but only one droid will help you, and he's very poetic. Pepper Butler Tarquin will be waiting right outside the building and needs inspiration: exhaust his dialogue and you'll be tasked with finding inspiration for him from Reginald. Head to the square to find Reginald and steal the inspiration.

Getting poetry inspiration from cafes

You'll find Reginald in the cafe's VIP area - getting in is simple to open the hacker and give yourself access, but getting his verses is harder. Exhaust Reginald's dialogue and you'll find he's secretive: he deserves to have his poems stolen. To the left of the cafe, you will find a diagnostician, you can talk to her, but all you need to do is transfer her music to the cafe's music system through your hacker.

Since you've been exchanging programs on the VIP doors, Reginald won't be able to leave. Send an alarm signal from the terminalSpankles with a door system to activate it when Reginald tries to leave. When you encounter a security droid, blame Reginald. Now get closer to Reginald and wait for the robot to come close, then use your hacker and transfer Reginald's poem.

Don't forget to turn off the alarm. Follow the speaker droid with the poem and transfer the poem. After the translation, you can change the hologram of your brooch, no matter what you choose, and you will receive a poem on your brooch.

Finally, return to Tarquin in the apartments and give him the brooch using the "inspiration" option.

How to get to the control room

As soon as you arrive at the celebration, you will find some shadow types in the rafters, so our goal is to get to them.

You will be given the opportunity to watch Reginald and Tarquin perform - we used Tarquin's "Gala Inspiration" poem, but you can also use a personal poem and the results are slightly different.

Follow the path and go down the stairs to find the way forward. After a few happy reunions, things are going really bad and you need Joey to move on.

We take out the android and return Foster

You will need to take out the android, first you will need to use the console in the center of the room. Offpower up one of the empty chairs, this will make the android press the button on the console to fix it.

Make sure it can't be repaired by flying behind the chair of your choice and disabling it by crashing into it. The android will try to fix this by climbing over the railings, at which point you can force Joey to push him away.

Return to Orana to continue

Once you regain control of Foster, follow Joey to room five. Once it's all done, follow the path you used to get here and you'll end up back at the recycling plant - we're finally nearing the end of the game...

Solving the Qdos puzzle at the recycling center

Enter the Recycling Center and follow the path for a brief chat with Jimmy. Enter the Furnace room where you found Lith before - he's gone, but the hostile security droid from the past is already here and you can place a Joeyboard in it for a nice "upgrade".

Move on to Lit's lab to find his body. Lit is dead, it happened just recently. Sit in Lit's custom LINCspace chair, it's time to get back into the digital world.

Once inside, again used?Use the Navigator and you will be taken to the Qdos distribution system. In the next room, you will find a digital recording of Lit, who knew that his death was coming. Lith will accuse you of saving Poppy, an innocent girl he took care of. Now you will need to solve the puzzle using Qdos, it shouldn't be too difficult...

All you have to do is find the division symbol and the number 0 to pick them up.

Once this is done, find the display with Qdos of All Citizens, place the division symbol in the left cell and 0 in the right one.

And now everyone in the city should have infinite Qdos, allowing you to travel outside the city with the kids you saved and Poppy.

Passing by androids

As soon as you try to leave the main room with the furnace, you will find hostile androids on the way to kill you, which is not good - you will need to sneak past without being noticed.

Turn on the moonshine faucet. Have Joey set fire to the moonshine on the floor, which he will gladly do with his new security droid skin. This will take you back to the main room of the recycling center and you will see Poppy hiding in a locker. Furnace room and moonshine distillery will explore while in?? riding a monopod into the sunset, perfect ending.

Opening Union City gates

Finally, you are reunited with top actors, Wendell, Orana and Milo.

Now your goal is to open the main gate so you can drive away in Wendell's truck. Since everyone is here, you can talk to everyone and take your time - once you're done, break open the elevator door and enter the next room, then exit through the door. Follow the path down and you will find that the treacherous Alonso is holding a gun at the Songbird.

Pull out your hacker and back away from the door a bit until you see the weapon control option. Swap the green icon for the weapon control node and then swap the shutter options - this should close the shutters and get Alonso's attention

Alonso will ask you, no matter how you answer. To be honest, I never liked Alonso, but he was hardly an antagonist - despite this, Joey helps Foster and you kill Alonso before entering the control room.

Go to the right corner of the room, next to the screens, and use your hacker with the alarm system and ground train doors. Exchange ground train and main gate options. Now go to the toaster and hack both the toaster and c??tuck - NOTE : you may need to reload from autosave to make the satellite object look like it's been hacked, it might be bugged

Now a clear witness to a big short cutscene as we try to escape from Union City.

Removal of advice

After the tragic cutscene with Joey, we see Foster and Orana heading towards the citadel - head straight for it. The doorway will be closed but you will see a Joey-like droid shell peeling away - approach it to continue

The council justifies their evil actions and you must reprimand them. It turns out that all the holograms are on the board, and the only real enemy is Joey the Savior.

Once the cutscene is over, it's time for quick action - use your hacker and edit androids. Let the androids attack each other and let them warn you when they see other androids. Orana tells Foster to run and now you need to put an end to them before they get out of control...

Removal of Joey the Savior

Time to save the world - start walking the linear path you are on and you will find a haunting ruined room

Eh?The room will be familiar to Foster and fans of Under the Steel Sky - sit in Overmann's chair. You will need to convince Joey and his many personalities

Rotate the cube until the image of Milo's kidnapping appears. Rotate the next cube to reveal Graham and the songbird - simple as you just have to rotate until it is straight

Then rotate the three sides of the cube to reveal an image of Graham on his knees.

Rotate the next one to show the fall of a man. Next, you need a man on his knees in front of the city - turn the top once, and turn the bottom three times. When the ministers are fired, Joey collapses and discovers that everything was based on Foster's last, misinterpreted admonition before he left.

With his job done, Foster leaves Union City in the hands of Orana and Danielle and walks back into the abyss to take Milo home - that also means you're done with the game!
