What to do with the icon in the "Poppy Field" of STALKER 2?

The best choice for the icon in this quest is to first give it to Pomor, then kill the man, take the icon from the corpse and return it to Mityai. Cruel, but effective - this way you can get both rewards and actually take the reward from both options! As far as I can tell, there are no negative consequences or penalties for killing Pomor (who is characterized as a slightly dubious gravedigger - he does not warn people about the dangers of the Poppy Field in order to then take the loot from their corpses).

What will happen if you give the icon to Pomor?

If you give the icon to Pomor, you will receive an AR416 automatic assault rifle from the Unknown Stalker. This is a pretty decent weapon early in the game, but there is one problem - despite the description that the weapon is well maintained, its durability is only 10%, so it often jams. You need to take the rifle to a technician (the main way to repair weapons in the game), but the repair will cost 7000 coupons.

Will it be a hundred if you give the icon to Mityai?

If you give the icon to Mityai, you will receive 1000 coupons and gratitude from the man. If you killed Pomor before this, it will not even be mentioned - the dialogue will remain the same.

Taking this into account, the best option is to give the icon to Pomor, receiving AR416 as a reward, kill him, take the icon from the corpse (you can also take weapons and ammo from corpses in the poppy field), use the key and open Pomor's closet to soak up even more loot. Then give the icon to Mityai and complete the quest, receiving the money.
