In the game Nioh, as well as in the famous and beloved Dark Souls series, the gamer will have to face a large number of bosses. Moreover, each such battle is unique and requires the player to demonstrate all the skills that he possesses.
With several bosses, you will fight not even once, but 2-3 times. Moreover, each time their skills will be the most diverse and dangerous.

The battle with the first boss of Nioh, as you might guess, is the easiest of all. This is not surprising, because this fight completes the passage of the starting, training location. If you are still not confident in your abilities, then we advise you to take a battle ax with you to the battle - the most powerful weapon at this stage of the game.
The battle itself will take place in two stages. During the first of these, Derek will not pose much of a threat, given the slowness of his attacks and low health. Just don't get under his ax and try not to rush things too much: wait for Derek to run out of steam, land a few hits and back off.
The main rule of the second phase bo??: Don't stand close to Derek, otherwise he will quickly send William, the main character, to the other world with sweeping movements of his mighty axe. Instead, wait for the attack, in which Derek rushes at you like crazy. Dodging (to the side) from the rapidly advancing big man, carry out a series of quick attacks (you should not linger near him, otherwise you risk falling under the action of the blast wave), then tactically retreat and wait for the next opportune moment. Repeat until you win.
No offense to Derek the Executioner, but the first truly formidable boss in the game can rightfully be considered the demon Onryoki . This is an imposing horned monster, wielding giant boulders wrapped around its arms, which we strongly advise you not to get hit by.
To better dodge boss attacks, choose a lower fighting stance. Even though it reduces the damage dealt, it significantly increases the speed of the rolls - a key aspect in this battle. If the dodges do not help, remember that boxes are scattered around the battle arena in which you can find healing items.
The main tactic against Onryoki is to hold onI am close behind him (if you stand at a distance, you can easily get hit by boulders). Land a few hits and get ready to block by standing close enough to the boss. An alternative strategy for the first phase of the fight is to wait for the monster to slam both hands on the ground, endangering its soft spot.
When fighting Onryoka, don't forget to use the "Ki Beat" (R1) skill, which clears the shadow zones placed by the demon
Sooner or later (when the boss loses about 1/3 of his health ), you will break the chains that held the boulders, and Onryoki's arsenal will be replenished with new tricks. Now, instead of swinging its balls in all directions, the monster will throw them. While standing at a distance, dodging a flying boulder is not so difficult, but up close, a second of delay or a too early rebound can cost you a fair share of health points.
At close range, beware of Onryoka's circular strikes, which can hit the hero even behind the back of the monster, as well as grabs - once you hit one of these, don't expect to get out alive. It is best to dodge such attacks counterclockwise. Otherwise, the second phase of the battle won't cause much trouble, and eventually Onryoki will go after Derek.
