Assassin's Creed: Shadows Companions and Allies in the Game

Assassin's Creed Shadows' central characters, Naoe and Yasuke, embark on a challenging journey filled with intrigue, revenge, and redemption. However, their journey may be made a little easier if they can recruit loyal allies to their side.

Some characters can be found throughout Japan ready to lend a helping hand, but not all of them will immediately agree to join the Shinobi League. To do so, you will have to fulfill certain conditions, proving your loyalty and skill.

Allies found and sent to the safehouse do not remain idle. Some become partners in battle, others offer romantic relationships, and others perform various important duties. This guide will take a detailed look at all potential allies: where to find them, how to convince them to join, and what unique abilities they bring to the party.

Some allies remain in the safehouse, doing useful things, while others accompany you on missions. Initially, you can only bring one partner with you, but as you develop your hideout and upgrade your dojo to rank two, you will be able to add another. Each combat ally has special abilities that can be developed using in-game resources. However, upgrading skills requires significant costs, so it is worth thinking about how to earn money in Assassin's Creed Shadows in advance.

So far, we have discovered and recruited the following allies:

This resident of Makinoodera Temple helps Sorin take care of Naoe after her first encounter with Shinbafuku. Yaya

First Encountered: During the Fatherless Monk quest

How to Unlock: Complete the Stray Dogs quest

Yaya is a monk of the Sumiyoshi Order who possesses astounding physical strength. Her philosophy is based on pacifism, so it is important to choose appropriate dialogue lines to convince her to join the Shinobi League. After completing the Heads Will Roll quest, you can receive a quest that allows her to join.

Yaya's Abilities:

  • Rikishi - a powerful blow that knocks the enemy back.
  • Oshitaoshi - when entering combat, knocks the enemy off their feet.

An ideal partner if you have to fight against superior enemy forces.

How to Unlock: Complete the quest "Godless Harvest"

First an enemy, then an ally (and potential romantic partner). Naoe engages him in battle during the quest "The Missing Message", but after completing "Lost Honor" he can join the Shinobi League. Flirting and dialogue support will help to finally sway him to your side.

Gennojou's abilities:

  • Mischievous Sabotage - Throws a bomb that stuns enemies.
  • Here, Here - Distracts the enemy.
  • Charming Presence - Reduces the likelihood of raising an alarm.

Gennojou is an indispensable ally for stealth operations, allowing you to infiltrate protected areas unnoticed.

Katsuhime

Katsuhime is a shinobi with an unusual passion for explosions. She is a master of firearms and can be both a dangerous enemy and a valuable partner. Supporting her will earn her loyalty. After completing "Requiem for Rokkaku" in Omi, she will officially join the league.

Katsuhime's Abilities:

  • Teppodo - Stuns enemies at the start of combat.
  • Explosive Appearance - Throws a blinding bomb at the start of combat.
