Microsoft commits to releasing Call of Duty on PlayStation "in the future, after the expiration of the current agreement"

It looks like Microsoft will continue to release Call of Duty games even after the current agreement between Sony and Activision ends.
Microsoft commits to releasing Call of Duty on PlayStation "in the future, after the expiration of the current agreement"

Microsoft decided to dot everything and answered the question about the future of the Call of Duty series on PlayStation consoles. The company confirmed that it has made a commitment to Sony that the games in the series will continue to be released on PlayStation consoles within the "existing agreement [with Activision], and even in the future."

After buying Activision Blizzard, many speculated about what Microsoft would do with the company's games and whether it would release them on anything other than PC and Xbox. Microsoft has published a lengthy message on its blog outlining a number of commitments and plans.

Some fans have asked if we will continue to release popular content like Activision's Call of Duty on competing platforms, including Sony's PlayStation. There were indeed reasons for concern, since after the purchase, Microsoft could make the game an Xbox exclusive, putting an end to the desires of PlayStation users.

You want to be clear. Microsoft will continue to release Call of Duty and other popular Activision Blizzard titles on the PlayStation for the duration of any previous agreement with Activision. And we have promised that we will make these games available on PlayStation in the future, so that Sony fans can continue to enjoy their favorite games.

For other consoles, Microsoft notes that it is "also interested in taking similar steps to support Nintendo platforms " , adding:

We believe this is right for the industry, gamers and our business.
