Diablo 2 Resurrected release date - as well as the start of the open beta test

The release date of the updated version of one of the most beloved games of the turn of the millennium has become known, as well as the approximate period for launching open beta testing. Diablo 2 is getting a new life, but Blizzard is trying to keep everything that made the ARPG so popular. There will be several control methods, small interface changes.

Firstly, the game will significantly tighten the graphic component: from rough 2D sprites they will move on to 3D modeling. Moreover, you can switch between both options at any time to see for yourself how different they are.

So, the release of Diablo 2 Resurrected is scheduled for September 23, 2021, and beta testing weekend starts on August 20. From 20:00 Moscow time the game will be available to every PC user in Battle.Net. You can preload now. Testing will last until 20:00 on August 23. Exactly 3 days.

The beta version is similar in structure to the alpha version that was shown in March 2021. It includes the first 2 acts, it will be possible to play for characters of five classes - paladin, druid, amazon, barbarian and sorceress. There is no level cap, there will be multiplayer modes available including co-op and PvP.

In addition to the graphic component, there are other differences between Diablo 2 Resurrected and the original. Moreover, the game contains everything that was in the Lord of Destruction expansion, which means there will be significant differences in the available items, such as runes and talismans. On the other hand, there are no differences in the gameplay: every difference in this regard is either cosmetic or done to improve convenience. There are no new enemies or new locations in Diablo 2 Resurrected.

Briefly about other differences:

• The map is in the top right corner, but you can move it around and change the transparency in the settings menu.
• Gold is picked up automatically - just step on it.
• Items can now be compared in the inventory. The same is true for storage and stores.
• There is a general tab in the storage - through it you can transfer items between characters.
• The total item storage space on the tab is a 10x10 grid - much larger than the original.
• There is support for an Xbox compatible controller. At any time, you can switch between controlling the controller or keyboard and mouse.
