English-language title STALKER 2 officially renamed

Military operations in Ukraine have been going on for 20 days. As you know, the GSC Game World studio, the developer of the S.TA.LKER series, is based in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv. This is one of the hot spots in the country. Earlier, we reported that due to what is happening, the developers officially announced the suspension of the creation of STALKER 2 , but assured that as soon as the opportunity arises, they will definitely return to work.

Following the announcement that Russian users will not be able to buy any game in the series, including the upcoming second part (although those who pre-order will still receive the game), GSC announced the renaming of the game. Now instead of Heart of Chernobyl is a post-apocalyptic shooter called Heart of Chornobyl. Chornobyl - transliteration from the Ukrainian-language name of Chernobyl (Chornobyl). The changes affected both the title and the description on the official game page on Steam. One can only guess whether the developers will go further, completely abandoning the Russian language.
