Roll your lip: PlayStation does not plan to release its games simultaneously on PC

In light of recent events, how Microsoft is not shy about releasing their games on both PC and Xbox at the same time, many, like me, could hope that Sony would dare to do the same. Some viewed the possibility with positive vibes, but others, especially PlayStation 5 owners, smirked and worried that it would actually happen. Head of PlayStation Studios Hermen Hulst spoke to Game Informer and confirmed that such games will be released on PC only after the exclusivity period has expired.

As for the simultaneous releases, Hlust disowned them, confirming that he could not even imagine such a development of events.

It usually takes about two years between a release on our platform and a PC. You can count on us as we continue to deliver platform-defining PlayStation exclusive content, which is one of the reasons we exist. This is important to us, we always try to get the most out of the platform, let the audience see for themselves that all these great features enhance the [game] experience.”

Sony has repeatedly stated its intention to port games to PC, but so far this has only affected Horizon: Zero Dawn , Days Gone and Death Stranding. All appeared a few years after the release on the main platform. Uncharted 4 is next in line. In July, the company reinforced its plans by buying Nixxes Software, which specializes in porting, but no one has ever put forward proposals to release all versions of games on the same day.

And I understand it perfectly. In the case of Microsoft, the situation is different: in addition to the Xbox, Microsoft owns both the Windows operating system and the Game Pass subscription. Moreover, many of its games, including the upcoming Psychonauts 2, are available through a subscription on the day of release.
