Ubisoft cancels plans to develop four games

The largest developer of video games, Ubisoft, has canceled the development of "free-to-play" Ghost Recon: Frontline and the new title Splinter Cell for virtual reality glasses . The names of the other two projects have not been released. According to the report for the first quarter of this year, Assassin's Creed VR remains in development.

Yves Guillemot, CEO and co-founder of Ubisoft said the following:

We have decided to cancel the development of individual games so that employees can pay attention to other projects that have a higher priority. In the current economic climate, careful strategic planning of our investments has never been more important. Therefore, we will have to significantly limit spending to the bare necessities and rethink our approach as a collective to spending, flexibility and efficiency.

Recall that on July 21, Ubisoft announced the postponement of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The game should be released in 2023 or 2024. The Skull & Bones release date remains the same - November 8 this year.
