The Polish company CD Projekt RED has announced the start of work on a remake of the original The Witcher. Developed by Fool's Theory (Outriders, Baldur's Gate 3), which uses Unreal Engine 5 but has renounced any old assets.
Studio head Adam Badowski commented on the information:
The Witcher is where it all started for us. It was the first game we made and it was a big moment for us back then. Collaborating with Fool's Theory on this project is no less exciting, as some of the developers have already worked on Witcher games. They know the original source, they know how much gamers are waiting for a remake, and they know how to make great big games. And while it will be some time before we're ready to reveal more, I'm sure the wait will be worth it.
At the moment, the game is in the early stages of development, so there is no need to talk about any timing or even a release window. The action role-playing game is codenamed Canis Majoris.
Hurry up to get working codes for free sets with lots of free parts, weapons, a new armored car and other prizes.
The studio has acknowledged several failures in the past.
The project is multiplayer and free.
