The MP spoke out in defense of video games in Russia

State Duma Deputy Anton Gorelkin defended video games, saying that blocking all projects containing LGBT propaganda and violence would put an end to the development of the domestic gaming industry. The official clarified that Russian legislation already has a law preventing LGBT propaganda, and therefore there is no point in submitting a new similar initiative.

As far as violence is concerned, at the moment, the commission bodies that rate games are called upon to regulate. So far, they do not work perfectly and need to review the way they function, however, a complete ban on projects containing elements of violence will become critical for the country.

As an example, the deputy named the game Atomic Heart , which was created by the domestic studio Mundfish. According to the expectations of gamers, the project can become a worldwide hit, and its blocking will lead to a real disaster for the entire state.
