As ShowGamer.com has learned, Dragon Age 4 will be released on the three main platforms of the current generation (PS5, Xbox Series X and PC), thereby bypassing the previous generation Sony and Microsoft consoles.
Former BioWare lead designer Daniel Nordlander has updated his LinkedIn profile. It lists the Dragon Age game he worked on, and made it for the PS5/Xbox Series X+S/PC. There is no mention of previous generation consoles. These lines contrast with Nordlander's previous statements in which he claims to have worked on Anthem for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
This fact was noticed by attentive journalists from the Venture Beat portal, but BioWare's desire to put aside the previous generation consoles is fully justified. A recent report said that Dragon Age 4 won't release until 2023 at the earliest, and it would be pointless to get hung up on old hardware, losing the opportunity to create something completely new and technologically advanced.
Although Dragon Age 4 may not be released on the previous generation of consoles, EA and BioWare did not deprive those who have not yet managed to get fresh consoles. Mass Effect: Legendary Edition was released for both generations in May, and the same will happen with Battlefield 2042, although the game will have some technical limitations, examined by the capabilities of different consoles.
