Guardians of the Galaxy 3 director James Gunn has confirmed that the development and filming of the film is going according to plan, so it will arrive without delay. On his Twitter, he wrote the following:
No. #GotGVol3 is not delayed or rescheduled, the film is still scheduled for May 5, 2023. We are going to make something incredibly beautiful for you.
The news is more relevant than ever, given that most of Marvel's Phase 4 movies have recently been rescheduled, including Doctor Strange 2, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. That's not to mention several other unannounced Marvel movies that have been dropped from the release schedule altogether. Other Disney films, such as Indiana Jones 5, have also lost their original release dates. All this is due not to poor box office performance, but to production delays.
It was recently announced that Will Poulter will be joining the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to play Adam Warlock, who was first hinted at in one of the second's post-credit scenes.
The action game also received a content update.
