Apple is expanding its presence in the gaming industry by giving developers better tools to release their projects on Apple devices. Recently, more ray tracing games have been released on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and the company will continue to build on that momentum by targeting the gamer community. Already this year, games such as Control and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will be released on Mac. However, the most significant release will be the anticipated open-world action game Assassin's Creed: Shadows, which will be available on Apple devices simultaneously with the worldwide release.
During the WWDC 2024 conference, Ubisoft developers reported that Apple's updated toolkit significantly expands the capabilities of game authors. It allows them to easily port their developed projects to Apple devices and integrate popular technologies such as ray tracing and many other features into them.
The company also announced that Assassin's Creed: Shadows will be released on Mac and iPad simultaneously with other platforms. The game will retain a high level of graphical detail on all devices and provide high performance even on the latest iPad models.
