Players have defended Black Myth: Wukong from being hated

Users noticed that the authoritative gaming publication IGN stopped actively covering information about the expected project Black Myth: Wukong from the Chinese studio Game Science. The last news about the game was published on June 21 and concerned Microsoft's comment about the delay of release on Xbox Series. This left gamers perplexed, as since then a lot of new information and gameplay footage has emerged that IGN did not cover.

Users speculated that the reason for this was IGN's long-standing criticism of the developers. In last year's preview, the publication praised the quality of Black Myth: Wukong, but at the end of the material again raised the issue of allegedly sexist statements of some employees of Game Science studio. The players pointed out that IGN incorrectly translated and interpreted the developers' words, which actually had a different, less harsh connotation due to cultural differences.

Gamers took IGN's stance extremely negatively, accusing the publication of unfounded heath and bias towards the Chinese studio. They also criticized the preview, in which the authors were disappointed by the lack of female characters in the demo, considering it a far-fetched requirement.

In the end, the mass criticism of users seems to have had an effect - IGN finally stopped actively covering Black Myth: Wukong, leaving the developers alone. Many gamers stated that they lost trust in the publication because of its biased stance.
