If you're one of those who believe in all sorts of rumors and conspiracies, then here's some good news for you - many suspected that Activision and id Software were starting a revival of the Quake series, and according to this year's QuakeCon schedule, this is probably true.
A few minutes after the publication of the official schedule of QuakeCon 2021, additional details appeared on the event website related to the opening of the show dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Quake series.
While the original announcement looked like it was going to be a trite anniversary celebration, XboxEra noticed that the new details mentioned a "resurrected version" of Quake.
The already edited description stated the following:
Quake is back, in this special broadcast John Linneman of Digital Foundry talks to Jerk Gustafson of MachineGames about the game's iconic legacy and what it meant to both of them. The pair also discussed the additional content that MachineGames has contributed to this revived edition .
Apparently, this is a "fat" nod to something like a remaster of Quake, which can be shown at the beginning of the show before the couple begins to communicate. We'll find out more during the event!
