The official announcement of Path of Exile 2 took place a long time ago, but the release of the game does not even shine on the horizon. Chris Wilson, lead designer at Grinding Gear Games, broke the silence and said that the developers plan to release the title before 2024, and open beta testing should take place in the next couple of years.
This became known during the Baeclast podcast. Chris stated that about 10% of the first and 25% of the second acts remained to be finalized. On the other hand, it is planned that Path of Exile 2 will have as many as 7 story acts. The deadline for launching the open beta is summer 2023, but Grinding Gear Games plans to launch it as soon as possible.
Previously, there was information that the release of Path of Exile 2 would take place in 2022, but, apparently, due to the pandemic that interfered with the company's plans, development was significantly delayed. Don't expect the game to release next year. Chris emphasized that at the moment the developers do not have any problems, so the process is moving at full speed.
And if you're still unfamiliar with the original, I'd like to emphasize that Grinding Gear still supports its first game with various patches, updates, and additions. So it's time to join the world of PoE !
