Walkthrough The Thaumaturge

The game starts at the train station, and your first task is to send a telegram. It doesn't matter which option you choose when talking to the postal worker. There are various letters and newspapers in the room - if you pick them up, you will get additional experience points. Exit the building and go to the bottom of the screen to meet the coachman. He can take Victor to the village. This will start the prologue.



Prologue

The coachman will direct you to a tavern. There is a group of deserters standing in front of the tavern. For the first time, you have the opportunity to use the "Pride" dialog option related to Victor's disadvantage. By choosing such options, you strengthen your disadvantage. It is necessary to deal with the deserters. Familiarize yourself with the basics of the combat system. I recommend attacking opponents one at a time. Spend the first Thaumaturgy point to acquire any skill. Enter the tavern. The character you are looking for, Rasputin, is standing in the east side of the building.

Search the tavern and find Rasputin's belongings



You must prove to Rasputin that you are capable of controlling magic. You will automatically unlock the rosary observation and the first deduction. Use perception to scan the tavern. This is how you will discover the footprints that lead to the prayer book, the vestments, and the dirty bowl. Victor can't explore all the footprints, as some are marked with a "lock". After discovering the footprints, return to Rasputin. After that you will find yourself in another dimension - follow the only possible path.

Find a flawed person in the village

You will get 2 new targets for the mission at the same time. You can switch between them with the E key. The red circle on the map symbolizes the search area for the local villager. This is a new part of the village, which is only unlocked after meeting Rasputin. Explore the new areas using perception and you might discover new tracks. A Protective Amulet (hanging above the gate) can be found in this area. The first important trail is the fallen apple, which is located near the well and the tavern. Trying to explore it will lead to an encounter with Spring, who is heading towards her home. In the central part of the village is the Wise Woman's hut. Find a dead goose there and start a conversation (conflicting neighbors). You are free to choose either side. One of the options is to calm Anatoly down. The choice of decision does not affect further events.

Enter the hut of the Wise Woman. There is a trace of the Saint's icon here. You need to find traces in other locations before all dialog options become available to meet the Wise Woman. Talk on the only available topic and you will learn information about the Bukavac Salutor.

When leaving the hut, find an additional trail of salt on the doorstep. The Spring House is located on the hill in the western part of the village. There you will find the Wooden Box. When trying to meet Spring, you will be stopped by neighbors - you will have to fight two opponents. Go through the parallel training of the new mechanics. You will unlock the "Villagers" observation. Unfortunately, Vesna does not want to leave the house and answer Victor's questions. Near Vesna's house you can find shards of a dish and a damaged axe shaft. You will open a new conclusion "Domestic Quarrels".



How to find Rasputin in the cemetery

Go back to the coachman's house, south of the main part of the village. Talk to the man who doesn't want to travel. Break off the communication. You have unlocked the Coachman's perception. Use your perception to find a trail of shovel and rags near the carriage. Unlock the output and deal with the coachman. When you get to the cemetery, you can find a nearby observation: Grave of Elder Vasily (requires 1 point of the Acts Dimension - if necessary, come back here later, after pumping up your character). Talk to Rasputin, who is standing next to the escort. You will unlock the traces of Doom, Death of the Elder and Superstition.



Search Vasily's burnt manor house

Go back to the coachman and select the new location, the Burnt Manor, as your destination. There is a brand new area marked with a red circle that you can explore. Use your perception as much as possible. You will find observations of the Doorjamb, the Place of Death, the Rag Doll (will appear in your inventory as a quest item) and the Belt (requires 1 point of Dimension of Deeds). A Ghoul will appear in the center of the farm - interact with it. Go through the reenactment to also unlock the "Trace of Spring" observation and the "Spring" conclusion. A group of deserters will appear that you need to defeat. After the battle, talk to Rasputin and return to the village.



Conversation with Vesna

Go to Spring's house in the western part of the village. A Ghoul should appear in front of the house. Interact with him to unlock the "Luke's Trace" observation. Knock on the door again to ask Vesna for Luke's Trace and get Luke's conclusion. You need to convince the woman to leave - use the "Heart Dimension" dialog option (1 point) or tell her about the Rag Doll found in the Burnt Manor. In both cases, Spring will come out of the house and you can talk to her. Before leaving the village, it is worth visiting the Wise Woman's hut one more time. You can now choose 2 new dialog options that were unlocked during the ongoing investigation. You will get the "Memories of the Wise Woman", "Character of the Elder" and "Assassin" traces. You'll also unlock the "Sjtary Basil" and "Lost in Time" findings. When you try to talk to Vesna again, you will learn that she has left the village.

Getting to the forest glade

You learn from Vesna that Luka is in the Forest Glade. Go back to the coachman and ask him for directions to the place. Upon reaching the forest, you will meet Vesna and then engage in a battle with the boss Bukavatz. After the battle, you will unlock Lack of Fury and also subdue Bukavatz, who will now be able to support Victor in battles.

Telegram

You will regain control of Victor back at the train station. Go inside. While trying to send a new telegram, you will receive an important message from the protagonist's sister. Talk to Rasputin (dialog options do not matter) and board the train to complete the prologue and start the first act.
