"There and Back Again" in STALKER 2: how to start and complete

After completing the shader compilation, talk to Herman standing by the wall. Then climb over it and move forward. From this point on, the mission "There and Back Again" begins.

  1. Go straight to the crack in the tall, huge concrete fence, to the left of the glowing anomaly.
  2. Move through the gap to get inside the wall.
  3. Go to the right to find some useful supplies (the boxes can be opened with a knife).
  4. Go back and go to the left to go down into the sewers.
  5. Before moving on, examine the wall cabinet next to the boarded up door to get some medical supplies.

Sewer Tunnel

Here you will encounter the first dangers, so the recently found first aid kits will come in handy:

  1. Use the knife to break the wooden boards blocking the door.
  2. Go along the corridor until you reach the door with the yellow lock. Hit the lock with the knife to destroy it.
  3. Go into the sewer pipe, bypassing various obstacles. Follow through the pipes until you hear a conversation inside the Southern Checkpoint.
  4. On the right there will be a body of a soldier with a submachine gun and a PDA. Take these things. You will soon lose this weapon, but it will come in handy in the next minutes of the game.
  5. An electric ball is moving through the pipes - follow it, but do not get too close until it rises.
  6. At the end of the pipe, turn left. Follow further until you get to a large open location.


Mobile Lab

Now you need to find a mobile lab. Follow the marker, avoiding radioactive zones (marked with a radiation icon). You may encounter enemies along the way. Retreat and fire in controlled bursts. There will also be destroyed houses that you can search.

The mobile lab is a large stone structure. Use the yellow ladders on the side to climb up. On the roof of the lab, find a red lamp indicating a hatch through which you can get inside.

It is important to interact with the ladder! Falls in STALKER 2 cause serious damage, and you can even die.

Find Negoda and scan the data

The lab is safe, so you can freely explore it and collect various items. Inside it, you need to do the following:



  1. Go to the western side of the lab to find Negoda's body. Take the PDA from the corpse and turn on the switchboard next to the body.
  2. Return to the ladder you used to get here. There will be a room with a body and a laptop nearby - interact with the laptop to listen to a radio message.
  3. Leave the lab through the north-eastern door next to the body in an orange hazmat suit.

How to find the Slug artifact

To find the artifact, you need to enter the green acid swamp, holding the detector in your hands. The artifact itself is invisible until you get close enough to it - go to the fallen barrel in the center. When the blue indicator on the detector glows constantly, a flash will occur next to you, and you will see the artifact you need. This is the Slug artifact - take it and place it in your inventory.

Scanning the points

Next, you need to scan several points. Follow the marked points using the compass, but be careful, as enemies may appear on the way. Now it is better to avoid meeting mutants, and fight bandits, hiding behind cover.

When you approach the first point, you will see a vortex of blue energy. Stand at the scanning spot and immediately retreat. There will be a circle of blue energy around it - do not enter it until it completes its process.



The second point is in a cave, so go down into one of the tunnels to keep a safe distance. There will be jets of fire that you need to avoid.

The third point will activate a cutscene, and Skif will hide in the house. I will not reveal what happens next, but after that you will be transferred to another place.

How to get out of the anomaly

After you find yourself in a new place and meet a friendly dog, you will find yourself surrounded by anomalies. You will be given bolts. To get out, throw the bolt towards the anomaly so that it disappears for 2-3 seconds. During this time, you need to run further.

After you get out, talk to Richter - the man who gave Skif the bolts. This will complete the tutorial, and you can proceed to the main part of the game. We recommend following Richter's advice and heading to the city of Zalesye.
