The new part of Tomb Raider will run on the Unreal Engine 5

Crystal Dynamics has announced a new part of the Tomb Raider series, which is being developed on the Unreal Engine 5. This information came to us as part of The State of Unreal 2022 event, at which Epic Games Studio announced an update to its engine to version 1.0.

Unfortunately, we do not know any specific details about the new game. It may well be that the team is preparing to reboot the series or release a remake of some part. In any case, it is unlikely that the new Tomb Raider will do without the beloved Lara Croft.

As for the engine itself, Unreal Engine 5 is now available to all developers. The technology will allow to implement a better picture in games, and therefore we will soon see more projects created on UE5.
