Yesterday, an insider revealed some details about the upcoming Resident Evil remake that Capcom is rumored to be preparing for release to celebrate the series' 30th anniversary in 2026.

Well-known insider Dusk Golem, who has previously shared reliable information about Capcom projects and Resident Evil series many times, commented on the latest rumors about the development of the remake of the first Resident Evil. According to him, the rumors that Capcom is indeed working on a remake are confirmed:
I can confirm that a new remake of Resident Evil 1 is indeed in development and is scheduled for release in 2026. Some details are correct, such as the fact that the remake will be third-person,” Dusk Golem wrote.
The original Resident Evil was released in 1996 on PlayStation and received high praise from critics and players before the game was ported to PC and other platforms.
