Japanese publisher Konami forgot to renew the rights to the silenthill.com domain. As a result of this oversight, an unknown user managed to acquire it. This is not the first time Konami has forgotten to renew its registration. In December 2019, the Silenthill.com domain was sold for $9835, but then no one managed to buy it. Made by Konami.
The new owner of the domain decided to play a joke and published on the main page of the site a screenshot of a post on the Twitter social network by designer Masahiro Ito, which hosts a creature from the video game Silent Hill called Pyramid Head.
As a side note, part of the inspiration for Pyramid Head's distinctive helmet came from a World War II German tank called the King Tiger. Ito was fond of tanks and military history. Not so long ago, he took part in the creation of a game event in World of Tanks dedicated to Halloween.
The success of the title is quite expected.
