'Eternals' final trailer picks up where 'Avengers: Endgame' ended

So why didn't you guys help the Avengers defeat Thanos?
'Eternals' final trailer picks up where 'Avengers: Endgame' ended

In the first trailer for The Eternals, the emphasis was on scale and timing - the events of the film will take place before, during and after the well-known MCU timeline. The final trailer, heralding the film's November release, sends us to a specific timeline. The Eternals arrived on Earth 7,000 years ago to fight the deviants, but now, after the events of "Endgame" that returned half the world's population back to the planet, the Eternals have 7 days left to prevent the "invasion".

Kit Harington from Game of Thrones plays the role of the man, Dane Whitman, who would later become the comic book hero known as the Black Knight. But in this trailer, he spends most of his time contemplating why the Eternals didn't help the Avengers kick Thanos' ass. Logical question.

If The Eternals feel more down to earth than previous Marvel films, it's because Chloe Zhao, who recently won Best Director and an Oscar for Nomadland, wrote and directed.

Feige said the following:

To be honest, if it wasn't for Chloe, we wouldn't even be trying to film it. We thought we had found a director who is equal parts cinematic visionary and genre fan. In manga, Star Wars, and Marvel comics, she can surpass any of us. It's an amazing combination. And this film, I believe, will reveal to us all the versatility of Chloe.

The release of "The Eternals" in Russian cinemas is expected on November 4.
