Quantic Dream reacted to recent rumors that the studio is looking for talented developers, ran into problems and, due to internal circumstances, was forced to postpone the release of Star Wars: Eclipse .
In an email addressed to GamesRadar , a Quantic Dream spokesperson denied rumors of a delay in the release of Star Wars: Eclipse, pointing out that the studio had not confirmed launch windows.
Star Wars: Eclipse was not delayed because Quantic Dream never announced or promised to release the game in a specific release window. Hiring continues as we work on Star Wars Eclipse and unannounced games, as well as publishing side projects.
The email says the studio has seen a 50% increase in workforce in 2021 and has achieved “very good financial results.”
Star Wars: Eclipse debuted a stunning trailer at The Game Awards 2021, and Quantic Dream confirmed that the project was in early development at the time of the announcement. The email, received from the company, is in response to a recent rumor about Xfire's Tom Henderson that unforeseen hiring issues have pushed back the planned release of Star Wars: Eclipse to 2027.
The Xfire report analyzes leadership positions that have apparently not been filled for some time, but Quantic Dream stressed that "vacancy announcements can be misleading."
At the moment, little is known about Star Wars: Eclipse, but the developers describe the game as a "complexly branched adventure" set in the era of the Great Republic. The studio also emphasized that the proposed experience "can be experienced in many ways, and the fates of several playable characters will be in your hands."
Quantic Dream is best known for its story-driven adventures such as Heavy Rain (2010), Beyond: Two Souls (2013) and Detroit: Become Human (2018). Again, Star Wars: Eclipse is rumored to be more action-focused.
