Russian authorities do not plan to block YouTube

Anyway, for now.
Russian authorities do not plan to block YouTube

Maksut Shadayev, Minister of Digital Development, Telecommunications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, said that the authorities of our country are not going to block the international video hosting YouTube. In any case, for now, the official said that in Russia, if something is blocked, there must be an understanding that ordinary citizens will not suffer from this.

Apparently, if they wanted to limit the site in the Russian Federation, for this it is necessary to create a sane analogue. The same RuTube, which was positioned as a replacement for YouTube, clearly did not cope with its task. Recall that the domestic service was offline for several days due to hacking, while it was stated that the hackers managed to remove the source code of the project.

This turned out to be a lie, but whatever it was, YouTube will continue to function, and thanks for that.
