The first details of the virtual environment "War-2077" for War Thunder

Gaijin Entertainment has unveiled the first details of the War 2077 virtual environment, designed to simulate the interaction of advanced ground and air vehicles on a hypothetical battlefield of the future.

The product is created in partnership with the ministries of defense of the world's leading powers and has gone through several stages of testing by military experts. Today begins the public playtest "War 2077", open to everyone. To participate, it is enough to have access to the War Thunder online game client.

According to the scenario of virtual exercises, in 2077 the Earth will be threatened with global extinction due to a collision with fragments of a massive cosmic body and the spaceport in American Arizona will become the most valuable object on the planet. Whoever owns it will be able to evacuate into space and is guaranteed to save part of the population.

The players have at their disposal equipment that is relevant for the second half of the 21st century, for example, the Minotaur MBT with a 140-mm cannon, with an uninhabited turret, high-precision kinetic ammunition,missile weapons, an active protection system and an optical camouflage system that allows you to disguise a tank in the visible and infrared spectra. The active protection complex of the tank is capable of detecting and destroying most types of weapons at a distance from the vehicle.

The Hydra missile tank lacks such powerful protection, but it can effectively hit targets from cover using 76 vertical launch missiles. To detect and target targets outside direct visual contact, the missile tank is equipped with a retractable rod with a set of optoelectronic equipment, as well as a reconnaissance and strike UAV launcher. The passive protection of the Hydra tank provides all-round protection and protection of the upper hemisphere from single hits from HEAT ammunition and missiles.

Players also have access to the Harpy universal air defense / missile defense system, the Wyvern heavy attack UAV with modular weapons (it can act as a fighter-interceptor, attack aircraft or fighter-bomber), and the reconnaissance UAV “G?"Ifon-3", which can also be used as loitering ammunition.

The playtest will last for several days - until statistics are accumulated that allow us to draw conclusions about the effective tactics and prospects of certain samples in simulated circumstances.
