In the World of Tanks comes the Time of Heroes — a large-scale update for the Victory Day in WWII

Preparing for the May 9 holiday in World of Tanks is always several months of hard work of the whole team. Everything we cover in May is in one way or another related to a great day in the country's history — Victory Day. Our task is not only to keep in memory the feat of our people, but also to convey the importance of these events to millions of our players and their families. We strive to make young people, many of whom are in our project, feel the continuity of generations and realize the value of peace. In May we will talk a lot about this. And on May 9 we have prepared a special gift for our audience — but let it remain a secret for now

The main theme of the update is the celebration of the Victory Day of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. This year the project team celebrates it with a special scope: players are waiting for a festive updated hangar, a new game event Time of Heroes and the opportunity to get special awards for Our Victories. Now it is possible to collect the Soviet premium PT-SAU of the IX level SU-122 (1956), and also the improved modes Steel Hunter and Ranked Battles at the 7th level return to the game.

Festive hangar for May 9

The updated hangar will appear before players even more festive, majestic and solemn: at night, in the glow of the flame of the Eternal Flame, fireworks, light show and with the appropriate thematic music, conveying the atmosphere of the great holiday of May 9.

Time of Heroes

In the World of Tanks there will be an event timed to celebrate the Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War.  Players will get acquainted with three commanders, each with their own history, abilities and equipment, and will fight together against the defending bots, which simulates the successful offensive actions of the Red Army troops, the liberation of the territory of the BSSR and other regions of the USSR from the German invaders.

• Players can expect:
• cooperative battles against vehicles under the control of artificial intelligence;
• familiar maps will be changed, there will be new obstacles and ambushes of the enemy in the most unexpected places;
• progression called Path to Victory with different rewards;
• a number of special combat skills, which will be available on the USSR vehicles, presented in the historical set: the call of aircraft for bombing and attack aircraft, artillery strikes, minefields, incendiary shells.

Advancing through the progression will allow you to get the main rewards of the game event Time of Heroes. On the eighth stage you can get a Soviet premium tank VII T-34M-54 for free, and on the tenth - a unique patch Winner.

Our Victories

In the new in-game event dedicated to Victory Day, players will be able to earn special awards by winning with Soviet vehicles from the Great Patriotic War.

Assembly Shop

This time in the Assembling Shop players will be able to step-by-step assemble the Soviet cult premium vehicle PT-SAU IX level SU-122 (1956), which was once a favorite of many tankers.

This PT-SAU has a real prototype. It was created after the Great Patriotic War and was designed to fight with armored vehicles, as well as suppress and destroy artillery.

Assembly will require special tokens, which can be earned for completing the suggested combat tasks. Each token earned sequentially triggers another stage of vehicle assembly.

Maneuvers: Path to Victory

A clan event is coming up in Fortresslands in the 7x7 format in attack/defense mode, on the X level of vehicles. Players will be able to compete for valuable rewards, including promotional and premium tanks.

Steel Hunter: Rebirth

The exciting battle royale-style mode returns in an updated format - with the mechanics of Rebirth! It's still a competitive mode, but it's easier to get started playing, especially for newcomers. Experienced Steel Hunter players will definitely notice the added game mechanics, and the standard rules will be revealed to them in a new way.

Ranked Battles

Update 1.26 will also see the return of ranked battles, but on Level VII vehicles only, using the Standard Combat rules and a 10x10 player format with a battle duration of 10 minutes. The ranked career consists of three divisions, with six ranks in each division. For each rank obtained, there is a reward: experimental equipment or pre-combat instructions, and for the last rank, advanced equipment.
