Walkthrough The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine

Blood and Wine is the latest expansion for The Witcher 3. The game takes place in a completely new region of Toussaint.



A new, even more exciting story awaits you. You can start the game either using an old save, or by creating a new account specifically for the add-on. To begin with, we want to tell you the following.


How do I start playing the Blood and Wine expansion?


There are three ways to do this:


  • Continue. Allows you to start the game with an old, already upgraded character. You need to complete the quest A Poet Under Pressure before you can start the next adventure. Go to Mulbride in Velen and look at the bulletin board. You need at least a level 35 character to defeat the weakest enemies you encounter here.
  • Fresh start. This option will allow you to restart the entire game with the Blood and Wine story set. You will be able to go to Toussaint after you complete the quest mentioned above.
  • Only Blood and Wine. If you choose this option, you will receive a new level 35 character who will be properly equipped and sent directly to Toussaint. It's about??personal option if you don't have old saves and don't want to start the whole game again.

First you will need to deal with a few bandits. The knights will ask you to accept the contract and deal with the beast terrorizing the outskirts.

The Beast of Toussaint

The knights will lead you to Toussaint, where one of them will be attacked by a giant. According to tradition, Geralt enters the battle. This is a powerful but slow opponent. It won't attack in quick succession, but it can deal a fairly serious blow in one go. These attacks are fairly easy to predict and dodge. Use the Quen sign to defend yourself.

When the giant is defeated, Geralt will receive his head as a trophy. This head gives a 5% bonus to the experience gained from fighting monsters. The knight attacked by the giant will inform you that the beast has attacked the city again. From there, you will travel to Mitton to investigate the crime scene.

• Subtask: "Find a new order on the bulletin boards in Velen". After installing the add-on and entering the game, the main task above will appear along with a subtask. Can you go to absolute??but any village where there is a bulletin board. You need to take a piece of paper, in the title, which says: "Appeal to Geralt of Rivia, coat of arms of Most." In the letter, high-ranking people, on behalf of Princess Anna-Henrietta, ask for help from the "Most Glorious Among the Witchers" Geralt to help defeat the terrible beast that fears the whole of Toussaint.

• Subtask: "Meet the knights from Toussaint in the village of Debrya." The letter says that the knights of the princess are waiting for the witcher in the village of Debrya, so go there. The marker will be on the "Settlement of Stonemasons", which is located relatively close to Oxenfurt (near the western bridge of the city). Upon arrival, go to the hype near the house, where the cutscene will begin.

The speech now will not be about the work to be done, but about the fact that these knights-errant have duties to the headman of the village, and since they are noble knights, they must fulfill the duties. The essence of the matter lies in the fact that robbers began to visit this village often after the soldier garrison left here.

It is enough to simply agree to help Palmerin and Milton, after which at dawn you will have to face the described robbers. No persuasion during the dialogue will help, becausethat these people are bastards, and besides, in the end, they will insult the princess beloved by the knights.

• Subtask: "Help Palmerin and Milton defeat the bandits." After convincing the robbers to leave people alone did not work, the massacre begins. In the battle for the knights, you can not worry, because in any case they will remain intact, but Geralt will have a hard time: the robbers will be high-level and, possibly, even higher level. However, the tactics are common: try not to get carried away in battle, dodge more and at the same time use signs.

After the battle, a cutscene will start. The calculated glory will not go to the knights, because people are afraid of them no less than bandits. In any case, this is not as important as the message from the princess, which will be read out by the knights in a few minutes.

When the official part is over, it will be possible to talk about the beast, finally. So, the first problem is that still no one has ever seen the monster properly. After the visit of this beast, only the corpses of people who are killed in a terrible and strange way remain. There are, of course, drawings that were made based on the words of people, but still nothing is really clear. At the moment, two people have been killed ... after the second murder, were there knights?sent in search of the witcher. Moreover, the killed people have a strictly noble origin. In addition, there is a rumor that the monster allegedly owns black magic, because the dead were in crowded, guarded places, where it is impossible to get through and not be noticed.

In the end, agree to take on the job, after which a cutscene will begin, during which Geralt, along with the knights, will go to the sunny region of Toussaint. This is how the main part of the Blood and Wine expansion will begin.

Quest: "Beast of Toussaint"
• Subtask: Defeat the giant. The sunny region decided to meet Geralt not with wine, meeting with the empress and hot girls, but with a new monster! The calm journey is soon broken by the enraged Goliath, with whom the young knight tries to fight bravely and at the same time frightened. The witcher immediately rushes into battle.

Besides the fact that the giant itself is a very strong creature, he also destroyed the mill and took a mallet from there, which he swings as if it were his personal club! The first thing you should do now is use the Quen Sign. But the first thing you need to know - never attack the giant in the forehead. Will it be extremely useful against him??n Sign of Igni and Sign of Aard. If there are bombs, they will help too. It is best to beat Goliath from behind, because, attacking him in the forehead, he will be very painful to beat with his foot and mallet. In combat, don't get too carried away: land a maximum of three or four hits and quickly roll away from him. The worst thing he can do is spin a huge mallet around him. Usually, if you get under a full series of such blows, Geralt dies. If he kicks on the ground, then a shock wave can go on the ground. And always remember about elixirs, for example, the Swallow will come in handy.

Immediately after the battle, the cutscene starts. It turns out that the giant's name is Goliath. There is a rumor that he used to be the same knight, however, who broke his vows. For this, the Lady of the Lake turned him into a wild giant, after which he was banished to Mount Gorgon.

In the end, the young knight Guillaume will tell you that another murder has recently taken place. A new corpse was thrown onto the river bank and right now the royal guards are looking for traces at the scene of the murder. Geralt immediately offers to go there while there is a chance to find the tracks himself, and not the trampled tracks by the soldiers.

• Subtask: "Follow Milton to the place where the body is found." Now you stay with MiLton, because Palmerin is going to inform the Empress that the witcher has arrived. Get on the Roach and ride after the knight. By the way, do not forget to search the corpse of Goliath, there you will find many different and useful items.

• Subtask: "Search the shore using the witcher's flair." Upon arrival, it turns out that the body has already been taken, however, there may still be traces, so activate the witcher's flair. The tracks you need are right behind the boxes with bags on the left - here you can find footprints.

• Subtask: "To study the footprints of the guards on the shore, using the witcher's flair." Additional subtask: Defeat corpse eaters. Additional subtask: "Using the witcher's flair, find traces in the nets that the guardsmen could miss." Follow the tracks until Milton's roof is blown off, after which he will rush to fight the corpse eaters. So there will be an additional aforementioned subtask. It will not be possible to continue to engage in further basic searches while these creatures are alive, because they will interfere, so kill them all. And be extremely careful, because corpse eaters (they are rotten) are very strong, and after death they explode. Moreover, the explosion can kill the main character. Use the Quen Sign, lubricate with the appropriate oil before the fight (ifsome available) and prepare the Igni Sign in the same way. All is ready? Then don't get carried away in the battle and roll more.

Immediately after the battle, we return to the main subtask: move to the marked yellow circle on the map and activate the witcher's flair. Soon the path will lead to the nets in which the corpse was found. The second aforementioned additional task will immediately appear. Now everything is simple: with the witcher's instinct turned on, inspect all the nets on the shore, then dive into the water and inspect the net where Geralt will find a strange napkin.

• Subtask: "Talk to Milton about the finds." After the found napkin, it would be time to go back to the shore to the knight and talk with him about what we managed to find in the nets that were in the water. Along the way, the witcher concludes that this silk cloth belongs to a nobleman. A cutscene will start on the shore.

• Subtask: "Follow Milton to the tavern and find out where the body was taken." It turns out that the napkin belongs to an old friend of Milton. In addition, the crime scene is completely different, because the body was thrown into the river, and the current brought the corpse to the nets, where it was already found. But what is most important now is the corpse. We need to find out where the guards went on the boat and most likely know?What about this can people from the tavern on the bridge nearby. Go with the knight exactly there. Immediately near the tavern, another screensaver will begin.

The most important thing from the entire dialogue that will take place in the tavern is that the locals believe that the alleged beast is the curse of the gods. She kills only on special days and only high-ranking people. People say that these are punishments for the fact that the princess and the knights no longer follow traditions, for example, the title can now be bought and it doesn’t matter who you are: a bad or a good person. In any case, you need to examine the corpse and quickly.

• Subtask: "Go to Corvo Bianco and inspect the body left in the basement." Additional subtask: "Using the witcher's instincts, determine what kind of monster killed the guards." Additional subtask: "Read information about Brooks in the bestiary to prepare for battle." The winery where the corpse is located is located nearby. Whistle the Roach, get on it and ride to the marked place, admiring the beautiful scenery along the way. At the entrance to the winery, you can hear the sounds of battle, and upon arrival - a bunch of corpses. There's something wrong going on.

To complete an additional task, do not rush to go inside. Now you need to quickly examine the corpses outside (examine?All the bodies of the guards in sight). When everything is studied, Geralt will make a strange conclusion: the vampire killed, but not the Ekimm and not the Fleder, but perhaps it was Brooks? Immediately after this conclusion, the next additional sub-task related to the bestiary and bruxa appears, so go into your bestiary and study this monster, because you will have to face it very soon. Get down to the basement.

• Subtask: "Find the body of the victim of Bestia in the basement." Now you are in a wine cellar and you need to find a corpse that was recently found in nets on the river bank. Along the way, you can study the traces. Since the wine cellar is not too confusing, you will soon find a grate, immediately after which the cutscene begins.

• Subtask: "Overcome Bruxa". During the cutscene, it turns out that the lady who could be seen briefly in the tavern and on the bridge is Brooks! Brooks has the appearance of a beautiful lady, but if she is hungry or attacks, the true essence is shown. Fortunately, Geralt will not have to run around the site and look for such a lady, because right now she is standing naked near the corpse. And most importantly, the witcher does not understand the motive of this monster.

Wed??zu after the splash screen, the battle begins. The most important thing to know about this monster is that this type of vampire can become invisible. Will help in battle: oil against vampires, bombs "Moon Dust", "Swallow", Sign of Quen and Sign of Aard. If there is no bomb, then there is nothing to worry about, you just have to be more careful. With the help of the Aard Sign, the monster can be knocked to the ground and knocked down, which will make it possible to inflict up to five hits. The Quen sign will simply protect the witcher from unwanted blows. Anti-Vampire Oil will increase the damage dealt by bruxa. The main thing is to beware of shock waves, because they will, if successful, knock the witcher off his feet. If Brooks manages to pinch her in some tight spot, then this is your chance to kill her quickly! The main thing is to alternate between the Aard Sign and blows.

• Subtask: "Examine the body of the Beast's victim." Immediately after killing Bruxa, the next task above appears. It's time to examine the corpse now and find out why bruksa killed so many guards to get to this corpse? The corpse will lie nearby. And don't forget to search the corpse, because you can find a lot of useful ingredients there! A cutscene will start near the corpse, and then it will be possible to decide what can be examined: 1 - the head, 2 - the torso, 3 - the severed arm.

Goal??va. Since the corpse lay in the water for an extremely long time, its head was swollen, but still this did not prevent a few bites from being noticed. In addition, Geralt also finds a purse in the throat of a corpse, which is literally stuffed with Nilfgaardian florens from different provinces.

Torso. The body was cut into pieces after death. And although the blows were applied with great force, the bones were cut, not broken. This suggests that the monster has long claws that are no less sharp than witcher swords. In addition, the heart was pierced first.

Hand. It turns out that the hand is actually the third and it did not belong to the victim in any way. Most likely, the guards did not even pay attention to this - they just gathered everything together and dragged it here. What is most interesting is that the hand is still warm and blood is flowing from it. This is very strange even considering that some types of monsters are prone to regeneration, but not that much.

As a result, it turns out that although the monster committed the murder, it certainly wasn’t Brooks. There are many questions, even too many. Who owns the brush? Why does she keep warm? Why does Brooks need this hand? Why was there a bag of coins in the throat? After all, why cut the body?

• Subtask: “Find Palmerin and ask him to take the witcher to the prince??ine. So, the corpse is studied, Brooks is dead. Many questions remain and very few answers. Now is the time not only to find out about previous victims, but also to meet with the princess, and for this you need to go to Palmerin. Upon arrival, a screensaver will begin.

• Subtask: "Defeat Sharley". Along the way, you might have already met the Sharley arena monster. Now you have to fight him in order to save the young and too hot knight. In addition, you won’t be able to meet the princess until this whole show comes to an end, so Geralt rushes into the arena like a bullet when he realizes that the monster is becoming uncontrollable.

No matter how formidable this monster may seem, it is actually extremely easy to defeat him. No oils or additional potions are required. The main thing is to have a "Swallow" and a Quen Sign, but even then - this is just for safety. So, when the charley starts to roll like a ball, the witcher needs to stay not away from the monster and not in the middle of the arena - it is necessary that he stands near the walls of the arena. As a result, when Charlie rolls on Geralt, you just need to jump back so that the monster collides with the wall. After this tactical maneuver, the monster will be stunned, and the witcher will be able to inflictand a few hits. According to this tactic, you need to act throughout the battle. It is necessary to beware of the monster when it buries itself in the ground and spins in one place (you can stop this with a crossbow, or by waiting at a distance).

Immediately after the victory, the cutscene will start and it will be possible to decide whether to finish off the monster or not. But keep in mind that the princess asks to finish the work begun. In any case, the princess will come to you along with other charming ladies. With Anna-Henrietta, you can talk about work at this moment.

The dialogue will be extremely long, but during the conversation, the witcher gets on the trail. It turns out that all the murders are interconnected, for example, this is evidenced by at least the fact that all the dead served at one time in the same detachment, and the killer tries not so much to kill as to morally dishonor the names of the former knights. In addition, the Duchess Geralt transfers a winery to her personal possessions, where the witcher can relax and have fun.

• Subtask: "Follow the princess to the palace gardens." Apparently, old Milton will become the next victim of a mysterious and elusive beast, so you need to urgently find him. The only problem is that the man is hiding in the garden as he is taking part in the royal competition as a hare. after prodIntroducing the cutscene, control will take over when the witcher and the duchess are on horseback, racing in search of the knight, hoping to prevent another assassination!

Ride after Anna Henrietta. When you find yourself near the palace, the duchess will inform you that in order to find Milton, you have to take part in the game, and the game requires you to find: a unicorn horn, a goldfish and a phoenix. There is no other way out, so you will also have to look for these items, because only they can help you find the hare. A cutscene will start in the garden.

The duchess orders the witcher to find a goldfish and a unicorn horn. The fish can be found in the lake with lights, you just need to dive while everyone is trying to catch it from the shore, but the unicorn will have to be lured with something, for example, with the Axii Sign.

• Subtask: "Find a goldfish underwater using your witcher senses." So, now you have come to the pier, the subtask has been updated and what to do next? Jump boldly into the water and ignore the cries of people that someone has jumped into the water. It is necessary to find a gold-colored fish, which is suspended on a rope in the water. There is a fish closer to the right side of the lake, and approaching it will start a cutscene. Although the fish is pulled out right in front of Geralt's face, he is? equally brazenly take the figurine on land and get the key from inside.

• Subtask: "Using the witcher's flair, find food that will attract the unicorn." Upon arrival at this parody of a unicorn, the animal immediately runs away when Geralt tries to approach him. When you get control back into your hands, find the animal and simply use the Mark of Axii on it. And when the participants of the game come up to you to figure it out, allegedly for the fact that the witcher did not play by the rules, apply the Sign of Axii on them too.

• Subtask: "Meet the princess to connect the clues and find out where Milton is hiding." Go back to the princess. For fun, you can even climb on an authentic unicorn and ride it. In any case, upon arrival, you will have all the key things, so the duchess will announce the following riddle, which indicates where Milton hid. The riddle says: “My first syllable is warm, the second is hidden by the fox, and the last one is kept by all the courtiers.” The riddle can actually confuse and scare anyone, but the correct answer is: “In the greenhouse!”. Next comes the splash screen.

On the trail...

• Subtask: "Fight the Beast". And although Milton will be dead upon arrival, what wasoh, quite expectedly, Geralt stumbles upon that very mysterious beast! This is an extremely unusual creature: it has long claws, can teleport, and in general the beast has an extremely good speech. During the chase, the witcher gets to an unknown creature, who is not even aware that the duchess ordered his head, because he believed that completely different people became employers. By the way, the previously found hand belongs to this particular creature.

The problem for any player who fights this monster is that nothing is known about this beast! No, in fact - the bestiary is deafly silent at the time of the first skirmish with this monster. The first step is to know which signs are effective. The most useful signs, in my opinion, were: the Sign of Quen and the Sign of Yrden. The first protects against unwanted blows, and the second sets an extremely useful trap that allows you to fight the beast more effectively. You can also use the Aard Sign along with Igni, but the problem is that they do not bring such great effectiveness, but only gain a couple of seconds in battle, which are immediately spent on two or three hits. Of the things, you definitely need the “Swallow” and oil against vampires, which will increase the damage done several times. As for the monster, it can do a lot: restore health, teleport, etc.do punching jerks and just fight well. The last three details indicate that you will have to keep your fingers right next to the button that is responsible for dodging. There's nothing to be done about these strange teleporting smokes. As for the restoration of health, this is absolutely true. The monster can regenerate, therefore it is able to restore a little health each time, which means that you can’t mess with the beast for a long time. What can be learned from all this? It is best to fight in a witcher's trap under the Quen Sign and with a sword that is oiled against vampires. Plus, there's a lot to dodge.

In the end, when the beast has very little health left, a cutscene will begin, during which Geralt's old friend Regis intervenes in the massacre. As for the killer, he leaves. During the dialogue, it will be possible to learn many different details from Regis during the dialogue: the name of the killer, the probable reasons for the attack on people, the story from the past of this mysterious vampire, and much more. So take your time and ask Regis about everything in detail, after all, you have a common goal - to stop the chain of murders in Beauclair.

• Subtask: "Go to Mer Lachaise Cemetery and meet with Regis." The conversation with Regis is interrupted by the knights whoOry moved out on the trail of the witcher. But Regis is not going to interrupt the case because of this and offers to meet at the local cemetery to discuss a further plan and simply answer questions regarding the case. The cemetery is located on the east side of Beauclair.

Upon arrival, you will face the good old ghouls and, hitherto unseen, archespores. Faced with them for the first time, you can even die, especially considering how they were transformed in the third part. So, the first thing you need to know is that the archispora is capable of poisoning the witcher. If you are poisoned, then there are two ways out: either remove the intoxication, or endure it. In combat, the archispore will create huge flowers that will appear from the ground. Thanks to these flowers, she can move to other places, and not stand in one place and wait for you to hack her. It is better to destroy these flowers with the Sign of Igni, and this sign is also useful in the battle against the archespores.

• Subtask: "Figure out how to get inside." The door inside the crypt was locked, so you need to find another way inside to meet with Regis. The emergency entrance is located, if you look directly from the doors, on the right. The emergency entrance is not a door, but a coffin, inside of which a hole has formed. Jump down and move oncave, simultaneously interrupting kikimor. The target will be marked on the map and is nearby. Upon arrival, a screensaver will begin.

Note: Once in this dungeon, you have a great opportunity to find a relic sword called "Casus Foederis". How? After you kill the “pack” of kikimore workers at the very beginning, go a little further and find yourself at a fork: one passage leads to the right side, and the other goes straight. It is necessary to go straight, and up until you come across a dead end, which turns out to be an illusion. Having dispelled the illusion, the aforementioned sword can be found on the sarcophagus.

• Subtask: "Find the whistle's logo". Additional sub-task: "Read the bestiary to learn more about the spotted whistle." The conversation will turn out to be very long, so the most important thing to know is that finding the killer is not so easy, but real. Regis suggests making a potion called Resound. He offers to cook it precisely for the reason that you have the hand of the very vampire who is openly hunted. I will not retell, just the whole story of the dialogue with Regis, because it is better to listen to it. The bottom line is simply that in the vicinity of the Regis crow, a spotted wight was found. The saliva of this monster has the necessary ingredient for the potion, or rather the poison that??y allows you to "catch" unique glitches. Now you need to get either saliva or salivary gland. And don't forget to check out the bestiary to learn more about the twist. Pay attention to the fact that oil against corpse eaters, the Sign of Yrden and Aard will come in handy in the battle.

On the way to the ruins of the Trastamara estate (which is exactly where you need to go), Geralt is expected by many foggers and already in the barghests estate. And if you can ride the Fogmen on the Roach, then you can’t get around the Barghests. Barghests are evil spirits in the form of dogs, so they must be dealt with accordingly. Closer to the house in the estate, a cutscene will begin.

• Subtask: "Use the witcher's instincts and find the wight's lair." So, Regis already once said that the place is cursed and this one really is, because words are carved on the walls of the house that sound like some kind of curse. After the cutscene, go inside the manor, where the previously mentioned sub-objective will appear. Inside, you have to carefully examine everything, but I suggest first of all to climb into the stove and read the diary of a poor girl who faced a terrible problem.

Note: I recommend that you carefully inspect the house, because thanks to one spoon you can take an additional task: "The secret has disappearedempty spoons. How? If you stand near the entrance to the estate, go to the right side of the house. There, in the upper part of the house, in the corner, on a log in the form of a stump, there will be a spoon, which activates this task.

• Subtask: "Find the whirl's cauldron". In any case, go down to the basement, because it will be possible to continue the main task only there. The boiler to be found is located in the same basement in the next room.

• Subtask: "Look into the cauldron". Immediately after you manage to find the boiler, this subtask will appear. Inspecting the boiler is not difficult. However, even after a thorough inspection, it turns out that there is no saliva needed, so you will have to ambush the monster, moreover, in a place where the boiler will be clearly visible.

• Subtask: "Hide in a secret place from where the cauldron will be clearly visible." The only suitable place can only be a closet, which stands in the same room, where Wicht recently set the table, and where the boiler is located. In general, climb inside, the cutscene will begin. When the monster arrives, a choice will appear: either remove the curse or attack the monster.

How to remove the curse from the wight?

To be honest, removing the curse from a twist is much more interesting thanm to kill him, but you choose, all the options for passing will be described here. So, if you are the person who was going to remove the curse from the girl, then exit the closet, after selecting the option: "Remove the curse." Geralt will get the necessary saliva from the wight's cauldron, and then sit down at the table - this is the first step to removing the curse. After that, choose the option that involves a meal without spoons - this is the second step to removing the curse. The last step is the moment when the Wicht looks at himself through the reflection in the plate.

• Additional subtask: "Go for the heavy smell of broth." This subtask will appear only if you decide to remove the curse from the wight girl. Immediately after the above ritual, the wight will run away and the witcher will have to catch up with the monster. Activate your witcher's senses and follow the scent trail. The tracks will lead you to the already disenchanted girl. Of course, if it can now be called that, after all, it was cursed more than a hundred years ago. In general, the witcher will shelter the cursed girl in his time at his winery, where he will provide her with shelter, food and clothes.

So, the girl was cursed because she violated the tradition, during which a beggar comes to you, and you are simply obliged or obliged to feed him. The girl didn’t do it at the time, and moreover – offended a beggar. The man cursed her with those words that you can read on the walls of the estate everywhere. Such is the story.

Boss wight spotted

• Sub-objective: "Return to Regis and tell about the success." Immediately after Geralt has saliva, it will be necessary to return back to Regis. Go to the graveyard in Twilight Forest. This time, the doors to the crypt will be open, so you won't have to wander around the cave again. A splash screen will start at the bottom.

So, Regis will now tell you that you need to get another important ingredient - the blood of a higher vampire. It would seem, what is so complicated here? Regis can easily provide a couple of drops of blood for a potion! But not everything is so simple, since the chemical composition of the blood of vampires changes depending on the appearance. To put it simply: in the form of a man - the blood is one, and in the form of a vampire - the blood is different.

And since rage cannot be controlled (and in vampire form, Regis won't be able to control himself), Regis suggests going to a place called Tesham Mutna. There is a cage made of an alloy of several metals (including silver), where it can be locked up, unleashed all the rage and take a few drops of blood. And to wake up the vampire RYegis, it will be necessary to kill monsters so that the smell of blood will intoxicate him. I recommend going to this place right away.

• Subtask: Follow Regis. Well, control will return to you when you find yourself in place and Regis opens a secret entrance to the ancient vampire dungeon (check everything carefully along the way, because it’s impossible to go back). Follow an old, a little crazy now, friend. When you reach a huge hall with a cage, another cutscene will begin.

• Subtask: "Lay out the bait in four tunnels." So, Regis will give Geralt a bait that will help attract the attention of the scavengers. A little later, another new monster will join the battle, belonging to the category of "corpse eaters" - katakana.
