The black magicians enter Anubis's house, having discovered the necessary sarcophagus to begin their work. Shezmu makes contact with Ka Odit and learns that he was heading to his territory for purification when he discovered the entrance to the tomb ajar. Odit decided to run and saw the figure of a man on the shore, engaged in some activity. At this point his memories end, and he remembers nothing else.

The black magicians, frightened by the rustling behind them, lose contact with his soul. Ash appears and recognizes Eva. Tizian hurries to report to the epistat that the light has come on in Anubis's house. Amen intrudes there and notices that there is a girl among the shezmu. About to attack, he encounters resistance from Ash. The black magicians run out the window and, breaking into groups, reach the library.

The next morning, an epistatian comes to Eva's home, asking her about the night's activity. Amen reports that the intruder has already been found in his house, and now Eva can rest peacefully in her home. However, Eva realizes that Diya is in Amen’s hands and runs outside, where she encounters Livy, who realizes that she is a black magician.
