Netflix took to Twitter to share the star cast for The Witcher: Origins prequel. In particular, it became known that British comedian Lenny Henry will play the role of Balor. At the same time, the role of One Egg Morning went to Irish comedian Dylan Moran.

The series was cast by Zack Wyatt (Karen Pirie) as Syndril, Nathaniel Curtis (It's a Sin) as Briand, Mirren Mack (The Nest) as Mervyn, and Jacob Collins-Levi (Young Wallander) as Eredin.

Lizzy Annis will play Zakare, Hugh Novelli (Takeover) will play Brother Death, Francesca Milz (Harlots) will play Meldof, and Amy Murray will play Fenric.

Note that all of the listed actors will join the previously announced Sophia Brown (Ellie), Lawrence O'Fuarine (Fjall) and Michelle Yeoh (Skian). The film was directed by Sarah O'Gorman (Cursed) and Vicki Juson (Close). Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, Matt O'Toole and Declan de Barra are executive producers. The latter is also the showrunner. The Witcher author Andrzej Sapkowski has become a creative consultant for the TV show.

The events of The Witcher: Origins take place 1200 years before the appearance of the world and tell the story of the formation of the first witcher. We will also learn about what led to the world event "Connecting the Spheres". According to Deadline, filming is in full swing in the UK.

Recall that the release of the second season of The Witcher will take place on December 17, and then the Netflix animated film The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf will appear.
