Walkthrough Darkest Dungeon (quests and bosses)

The first mission of the mini-campaign is relatively easy. Gradually, opponents with more powerful attacks will appear.

It all happens so smoothly that you should not have any difficulties. Since the rooms here are not randomly generated, you must move from the left corner of the map to the right. There is nothing special in the corridors, except for one chest, which, however, you do not need. Therefore, it is not worth going back.

Your task is to get to the mini-boss named Shuffling Horror, and destroy him.

Here you will face two opponents with which you were already familiar - Ascended Brawler and Ascended Witc. But this time, their attacks will be more powerful. Their attacks will either weaken you or cause you to bleed. In general, they are a bit harder to defeat. However, the battle tactics remain the same: kill all the Witches first!

New enemies in all their glory

New opponents will appear - Cultists. These are completely harmless creatures that will not attack your squad. Their only job is to heal allies or protect them with their body. It is best to kill them at the very beginning of the battle. If this is not done, then with their treatment or protection, they will only prolong the duel

The enemy you should be wary of is the Cultist Priest. His attacks deal decent damage, weaken the target, and can even hit two characters from your squad at the same time. These enemies are vulnerable to stun. Therefore, it is ideal to use Helion and the Bounty Hunter against them.

Boss Shuffling Horror

Just as in the case of Shambler, the fight cannot be dragged out. Extra rounds of combat entail serious consequences.

While exploring the corridors of the dark dungeon, you will soon reach your destination and meet a boss named Sly Horror. In terms of fighting style and appearance, he resembles Shambler. As with the Shambler, the Horror will summon other monsters to the battlefield. The danger is that he can summon a Cultist Priest.

Just like in the Shambler fight, stress is your worst enemy. The difference between the monsters is that you don't have a quick way to defeat the boss. Thus, your party in this battle will still suffer. The best tactic is to deal point damage, causing bleeding and poisoning. It moves twice in one turn, so it takes twice as much damage from bleeding and poisoning. Use regular attacks against his summoned creatures.

The key to victory is stress management. Without Jester or Houndmaster, who have the most powerful stress healing abilities, you will not be able to feel confident in this fight. The best choice of these two characters is Jester, who can increase accuracy, speed, and critical chance for the entire squad. And this is in addition to a powerful stress healing.

A good squad against this boss consists of the following characters:

  1. Jester. An ideal fighter who is an assistant for the entire squad. It will heal your characters from stress and increase their accuracy, speed, and critical hit chance. You can take the character Houndmaster instead, but he can only treat stress.
  2. Helion. Its useful characteristics are high damage, the ability to inflict powerful bleeding on the enemy, which makes the fight much easier. Her Iron Swan will come in handy in dungeon fights when you need to kill opponents in the fourth row.
  3. Occultist. Heals, debuffs, and marks targets. The last ability is in good agreement with the fourth character, which is written below.
  4. Head hunter. He harmonizes perfectly with the Occultist, who can mark targets. In addition, he has an amazing ability to throw opponents into chaos.

Of course, this is not the only set of characters that will help you defeat the enemy. At least with such a squad, it will be much easier for you to destroy this monster. Keep one thing in mind: the boss fight should not take you long. Try to end the fight as soon as possible. The stress level can very quickly surpass the healing level of Jester or Houndmaster characters. After defeating the enemy, you will receive three trinkets that are needed to complete the second quest.
