Netflix's New Resident Evil Series Coming in July

The second adaptation of Netflix's Resident Evil - this time a live action game that tells how the Wesker children try to leave New Raccoon City - will appear on the service on July 14th.

This adaptation should not be confused with last year's four-episode CGI project Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness (Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness) and even more so the failed reboot of Resident Evil: Raccoon City, which is not associated with Netflix. Currently, the TV show is called Resident Evil, and its narrative is divided into two timelines, covering both sides of the global apocalypse caused by a deadly virus.

The first timeline, before the apocalypse, follows the adventures of two teenage sisters Jade and Billy Wesker (guess who their father is?), who begin to suspect that all is not what it seems in New Raccoon City. In another timeline, 14 years later in 2036, the apocalypse has already occurred, Jade is trying to survive in a world overrun by bloodthirsty infected.

A promotional video from Netflix says:

In this ultimate carnage, Jade tries to escape her past in New Raccoon City, her father's frightening ties to the Umbrella Corporation, and what happened to her sister Billy.

Created by Supernatural executive producer Andrew Dabb, the eight-episode series will star Lance Reddick (Albert Wesker), Tamara Smart (Billy Wesker), Siena Agudong (Jade Wesker). Interim roles will be played by Ella Balinska, Adeline Rudolf and others.
