How to earn an S+ rank in Resident Evil 2 Remake

If you don't know what exactly needs to be done, then it is unlikely that you will be able to earn the maximum S + rank while playing Resident Evil 2 Remake .

How to get an S rank in Resident Evil 2 Remake

It is possible to get an S+ rating when playing on Standard or Hardcore difficulty, but for this you will have to complete the game at an incredibly fast pace. You'll only be given two and a half hours to complete the entire storyline, so don't waste time solving puzzles slowly or going back to the chest. You must write down in advance on a piece of paper all the codes for safes, letter locks, answers to riddles and much more.

However, it is not enough just to know what to do. Here are some useful tips that will come in handy for every player trying to earn such a high rating when playing hardcore. Before trying to get an S rating on hardcore, we recommend that you complete the storyline on normal mode, and play both characters, completing scenario A with Leon and scenario B with Claire.

S+ rank is the best in the game (no SS+ etc). To get it, you must complete script A or B with the following options:

  • Select hardcore difficulty to unlock the minigun or rocket launcher.
  • Complete the game in two and a half hours or less.
  • Use no more than three manual saves.
  • Do not activate cheats in the form of infinite ammo (we are talking about cheats built into the game).

Sounds difficult, doesn't it? We will not lie, a real test awaits you. Passing the game on hardcore is still a pleasure in itself, but here you also have to hurry. To make your task easier, we will give some tips and tricks.

Tips for fast-pacing the game on hardcore:

  • Shoot one or two zombies in the head to temporarily stun them. Don't even try to kill anything that moves. You just don't have enough ammo.
  • Shotgun, or rather - shotgun shells, save for boss battles.
  • Save gunpowder and high quality gunpowder to combine and craft shotgun ammo. By the way, if you play as Claire, then you will have a grenade launcher. In this case, proceed in the same way.
  • Keep regular and stun grenades for the final battle (three of each type is enough). Ada will drop a rocket launcher on Leon after one minute and 30 seconds.
  • Grab everything you see, but be aware of the limited inventory. Every time you walk past a chest, drop items into it. Don't go back to the chests specifically.
  • Almost any zombie attack will make the state of health critical. If you can play it safe then ignore it and just keep moving on.
  • Make sure you solve puzzles quickly. It is best to write down the solutions separately on a piece of paper.
  • You only have three saves. Do the first one when you get the green or red key (heart). Save a second time in the sewers, a third time when you first enter the lab.
  • Move the bookcases in the library until the Tyrant appears. Make sure you align them and match??and with a hole above. Solving the puzzle is much easier if the Tyrant is not chasing you.
  • Don't touch the pink key if you're playing as Leon. You don't need it!!! However, when playing as Claire, this key will be needed to turn on the elevator and get into the chief's office (thanks to user Kovalen Let's Play ツ).
  • Be sure to take a shotgun or grenade launcher, as well as a revolver or submachine gun depending on the playable character. They are absolutely essential in boss fights.
  • Only complete scenarios A. In scenario B, you will have to fight Birkin's fifth form (on the funicular), which will only increase the time of passage.
