Fortnite introduces a new mode inspired by Among Us

Fortnite's new limited-time mode: Imposters will be released today. Many gamers will find it familiar, especially those who have played or watched streams of the acclaimed Among Us.

In Imposters for Fortnite, players are divided into two teams. One team of 8 people must support the work of the headquarters of one of the secret Fortnite factions (Imagined Order) by performing various tasks. The other team consists of two impostors (Epic didn't even bother to change their name), and its goal is to eliminate all agents.

As soon as the player finds a dead character or sees something too suspicious, they can call a council where gamers discuss the events of the game and vote for someone of their choice. The new mode makes clever use of emoji to help with discussion - you can literally point your finger at players you suspect of betrayal.

Of course, there are some differences from Among Us: for example, tasks familiar to Fortnite are used, such as repairing equipment or preparing supplies for llamas. And the impostors, instead of killing them, simply teleport agents through the rift.

Last December, Epic already introduced fans to fans of a clone of Among Us called The Spy Within, which was developed in creative mode by the team of creators DolphinDom, KKSlider, Bunni_, Wert, Blanky, jstKamui, MackJack, Ritual and Snownymous.

But Imposters goes further. If the Spy Within mode was created by fans, then the new mode will not only stand on a par with the rest of Fortnite's modes, but will also harmoniously fit into its storyline. The fact is that the impostors are accomplices of Agent Jones, who betrayed the Imagined Order to save reality a few seasons ago.
