A rebreather cave can be found on one of the island's beaches. If your initial spawn was on the beach, then you will already be very close to the location of the cave. You can grab a gun and healing items. A flashlight will also make it easier to explore these dark caves, a lighter or a homemade torch (cloth and stick combination) will also work.
Use the ax to break the plank, enter the cave. It consists mainly of linear corridors with rare branches. This makes navigation relatively easy, although it is still useful to keep an eye on certain landmarks such as lights on the ground. As you progress, you will have to crouch under some rocks. After that, you will also run into a group of enemies, although you can simply run past them.
After the first group of enemies, the path will split. Turn right and go past a few moresome enemies. Reach a dead end with a stun gun. Head left down the swampy area and you will see that you pass through several tight areas before reaching a large room. The rebreather will lie near the water, pick it up.
Use the rebreather to dive into the underwater passage on the left. Be aware that there is a shark swimming nearby, although it is not overly aggressive. Just dive into the water when it looks away, then swim through the underwater passage - you have more than enough oxygen to go all the way. You will reach another exit.
The rebreather is a key tool for any underwater exploration. It automatically adjusts during the dive, allowing you to breathe, ??oka oxygen meter is above 0%. You'll need a rebreather to get to the shovel later, although the shovel cave also has some spare oxygen tanks. It is currently not possible to craft oxygen tanks through crafting, so it is best to only use the rebreather when absolutely necessary.
